Late or broken appointments
In the event you need to reschedule your appointment, please call with more than 24 hr. notice. Likewise, if you are running late, a call to inform us would be appreciated.
Broken brackets
Within 24-hours following the long-bonding appointment, bond strength is nearly 100%. In the event that breakage occurs with the first 24 hours of placement, there will be no repair charge. Additionally, the first 3 incidents of broken brackets will be repaired at no charge.
In the event that more than three brackets are broken, repairs will be done at a cost of $50 for each tooth. This additional cost will be due at the time of the repair.
NOTE: Repairs cannot always be done at the time of your adjustment visit. If necessary, you will be rescheduled to another day to correct the problem.
Divorce
In cases where a patient´s parents are separated or divorced, we require the custodial parent to be responsible for the account (guarantor) and pay all treatment fees directly to our office. The custodial parent will be the party with whom we communicate all treatment information.

Oral Hygiene
We are committed to successful treatment outcomes, especially bright smiles that are free of decalcification scars. This requires compliance with our oral hygiene instructions.
Once treatment is underway, should you have evidence of plaque accumulation, or swollen and bleeding gums, we will discuss the importance of oral hygiene compliance.
1st reminder: We will suggest 3 month hygiene recall with your General Dentist
2nd reminder: We will suggest remedial oral hygiene instructions in our office at an additional charge of $55 in conjunction with a 3 month hygiene recall with your General Dentist
3rd reminder: We will suggest a conference with the patient and parent to discuss the risks of continuation of treatment and benefits of immediate appliance removal. A letter will be sent to your General Dentist to inform him or her of our discussion.
Retainer wear
When retainers are not worn according to our instructions, the teeth will shift toward their original, pre-treatment positions. This phenomenon is called relapse.
Should you experience relapse, we offer two choices:
- Make new retainers and stop the relapse from worsening. This requires new impressions for making the new appliances. The fee for this service is $150 per retainer.
- Re-align the teeth with braces or aligners. The fee for this service varies with the severity of the problem and fees range from $900 - $1800.
